Chuangtse and Hueitse had strolled onto the bridge over the Hao, when the former observed, “See how the small fish are darting about! That is the happiness of the fish.” “You are not a fish yourself,” said Hueitse, “How can you know the happiness of the fish?” “And you not being I,” retorted Chuangtse, “how can you know that I do not...

Edgar got me a donit
It was heart-shaped.  I would have taken a picture of it but that would have required me postponing jamming it down my throat.

So, I really like the blog YoungHouseLove… and now I love them even more.  They put up this post about dealing with criticism they receive from anonymous comments.  While they are speaking in terms of blogging, I think it winds up being really relevant to life in general.  I think we’ve all heard these things at one point in time or another, but maybe not all together - plus sometimes...

Dear fellow bike riders
There is enough ill will toward cyclists in Phoenix. If you are going on a leisurely, group ride, be considerate and share the road with cars. You’re stupidity doesn’t just impact you.

This morning, I woke up and saw the date and was instantly filled with gratitude beyond words that I still have the beautiful soul that is Christa Brelsford in my life. It is not lost on me, however, that the families and friends of hundreds of thousands of people woke up today and, instead of gratitude, felt the sadness and loss of a loved one. Haiti, my heart goes out to you.

Lucky in the Bedroom with a Cookie
I don’t know how many times a week I have to say the phrase, “Hey did you finish my (insert food item here)?”  Only about 1/2 the time is Edgar the culprit, but he doesn’t look nearly as guilt-ridden as the dogs do.

I’m tired of Edgar’s lack of focus at the gym. I’m trying to do calves and he’s running around popping people’s shoulders into socket. Every day is an uphill battle with him ;)

I don't want to forget all the good stuff
A few weeks back I was really sad about not being able to spend Christmas with family and Edgar said that just because we couldn’t go home didn’t mean we couldn’t have a good Christmas.  I was thinking of all the nice things we did and suddenly I wanted to make a list so I could see them all laid out in front of me and admire them.  Sorry, this one of those posts that’s...

I feel the need to say this (as if it hasn’t been said enough) - if you take people’s images (off of facebook or whatever) without paying for them or without the person’s consent (or at the bare minimum without giving them photo credit) this is called, “stealing.”  If you’re thinking to yourself, “that’s not stealing!!”” then you should...
